Smidt-Imex was founded by Charles Smidt, importer of luxury soaps, silverware and advertising mirrors for wholesale.
1986
Smidt-Imex acquired an advertising company and founded its own sales department, specialized in promotional gifts and premiums. Parallel, the company started to source and buy promotional items in Asia and all over Europe.
1988
The start of an in-house printing company for pad and silk screen printing of premiums.
1998
Charles Smidt hands over the management of the thriving company to his son, Stephane Smidt. Stephane is still the CEO of Smidt-Imex today.
2006
Start of our Hong-Kong and Guangzhou office. Nowadays more than 30 people are employed in these two offices: product and supplier sourcing, inspections and accountancy.
2014
With the arrival of Maxime Smidt, the third generation of Smidt starts working in the company.
2015
Smidt-Imex establishes a specialized License and Concepts department by hiring a new team member with over 10 years of experience in this field.
2017
Smidt-Imex moves to its current location at Schranshoevebaan 18 in Wommelgem.
2023
Smidt-Imex is exclusive B2B partner of Keter-Curver.
